Educational Foundation Annual Scrapbooking Event January 28 and 29 - Join us for the Grass Lake Educational Foundation's Annual Scrapbooking event at Grass Lake High School on Saturday, January 28, 2012, from 9 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Participants can pay at the door on the days of the event. $55 for Saturday and Sunday, $40 for Saturday only. $25 for Sunday only.  Jackson Catering Business Focuses On Healthy Lunches for Preschool and Elementary StudentsAs reported in the Jackson Citizen Patriot:
A Jackson catering business that focuses on healthy lunches for preschool and elementary school students is hosting a free taste-testing orientation. Fresh is Best, LLC, owned by Roni Weaver, will be holding two 75-minute sessions Dec. 29 to provide for children and parents a chance to see and taste the business’ lunch products and a preview of the “Cooking With Kids” classes. There will be age-appropriate activities for students in preschool to sixth grade. Grandparents, caregivers, daycare providers, teachers and classroom aides are also welcome. Advance registration is necessary to make sure there are enough samples and other materials. Those who are interested can register by emailing the number of people and ages of children attending to roni@fresh-is-best.com. Session times are 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and a later time may be added. The sessions will be held at the lodge at Camp McGregor, 10380 Adams Road in Liberty Township. Registration can also be done on Fresh is Best's Facebook page. The “Cooking With Kids” classes will start in January.  Free Books Available for Children Under 5 Years OldEarly literacy skills are essential to a child's success in school and throughout life. Recognizing the need to strengthen and support early literacy efforts in the community to ensure all young children get the best start possible, the Great Start Collaborative of Jackson County launched Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in April of 2008 with the generous support of CMS Energy. Every child under age five who resides in Jackson County is eligible to receive a free, age-appropriate book each month until their fifth birthday. Click here for more information or to sign up. Warrior Goods are in stock and available throughout the year. Check the items out. The Warrior Wear order is due by November 9th, 2011 – no late orders will be accepted. The products will be delivered in December ~ just in time for holiday gifts. If this is a gift for your child(ren), please check the box and provide a name and phone number/email to contact for special pick up at the school.
